The View from the Kitchen

I am not complaining,  but I just made a new rule for my kitchen appliances and I hate rules but sometimes they are necessary in life. I happen to be one of those woman who likes to keep a few appliances on the counter that I use maybe once a year or so.  This makes for faster prep time and saves me about a half hour at least of not having to dig around the bottom cabinets and move everything to get to one thing that may end up not being being there.  Plus having to put everything back after I moved everything out on the floor.  With each small appliance, there are those lovely black cords hanging from the back.  I try to rap them up in a nice round form, bunch them up, hide them or even rap them around the device if that works.  I hate them but need them.  You know love-hate thing.  We need them to make the things work. Too bad they were not wireless, so many things are now a days but when I purchases them, the manufacturers must not of been a woman, I am sure, who uses the devices, so what did they care.  Maybe they didn't do the market research back then or blogs were not around for them to read to get free advice on how to make their products better.  Now many things are wireless like those little mouses, speakers, computers etc, I am sure you are in a room with something that is wireless so why not have all of the appliances on one remote and they can run on batteries even.  I can just click and boom they will do the job intended.  Hey maybe my husband will do some prep work as he loves his remotes, he hides them on me unintentionally of course.  So my rule and solution is in the future, if your a seller/manufacturer of an appliance, I am buying unless it has one of those cords that are retractable into the unit for easy storage so my counter space is not so ugly with cords as that is my storage place of choice for some of them.
