To diet or to not diet, that is my question.

Many of my online friends and some family member's are on diets now of some type.  That is good. All of a sudden it seems like everyone made up their mind to lose weight.  Wow.  I have no idea what happened but that is good thing. I hope we all keep our weight loss off for good.  I just don't understand how slim people do it and not gain unless they are on a raw food diet.  That I can understand.  The thought of no pasta oh my.  Now I can do 90 % raw and a tiny cooked meal at times and still feel good.  I have noticed now that I am back with my green smoothies I feel better and have more energy.  Awesome.

I am trying to remember when I was a slim person, what I ate but I had to work at it hard to keep my shape.  Life just got to me after I got sick. Stress is not good for weight loss or health, it actually causes weight gain via the stress and fat hormones.  Great, that is just great.  So now I need to learn to not get too stressed and get rid of the stress I have.  I am a Christian so this should not be that hard but I am human and it is cause I am in the change of life now. I am learning to deal with things that are new to me, so I am not going to beat myself up. NO. No guilt.  No shame either.  I am giving it over.

Today I ate my green smoothie for breakfast and a small protein bar for my second mini meal and had a small head of cauliflower and 5 cherry tomatoes for lunch with a bit of olive oil and salt and pepper and a tiny sprinkling of cheese and roasted the veggies. Very tasty. Had a coffee and lots of water filtered of course.

To up my protein I do use hemp protein in the morning with greens if I do not have eggs. I don't think the veggies were enough as it had no protein base and the cheese was very very little in amount so I am hungry again.  Going to have a protein cookie in a bit.  They are so so so so so so good, too good so I need to be careful with them. I eat the ones from Chef Jay and get them from Vita Cost.  My secret is out.  LOL  They are high protein and taste amazing, natural and are more home made than most diet meal bars out there. He has a book out about how he lost weight.  I do know if I eat protein with each meal I will not crave or get so hungry.  I know cutting the bad carbs and keeping them fairly low and sugar is cut out, I will not crave, the cravings stop.  That is a very good thing.  I made soup yesterday with a big salad and I do watch what toppings I use and the dressing amount.  The dressing is my own home made not from a bottle. No sugar either in my dressing.  A small amount of Olive Oil and apple cider vinegar and spices with S & P. I use Himalayan salt only or sea salt if that is not available.  It has some minerals in it so it is a bit better for you I learned.

Going to get my tea with peppermint in it for balancing my wild hormones and my one high protein diet cookie to satisfy my sweet tooth.  They are high protein for my mid day snacks and then dinner later.  I eat about 4 to 5 times a day depending.  If 5, they are small mini meals for sure or just 3 meals and two tiny snacks or sometimes I do 4 meals.  I change it up to confuse my body.  LOL

I am going to weigh in and see how I am doing before I eat.  I weight in when I think I might of lost.  Will let you know if I stayed the same or lost.  I so hope I didn't gain. I have so much to do today and I have to say I am worried about a few things. Hate these type of days. Oh gotta go get me my tea and diet cookie.  I just love them. Later.

  1. Yes, protein is important at breakfast. I know if I don't have enough at breakfast or don't have any at all, then I'm hungry in no time.
