Well Jen did manage to lose 5 lbs fast with her new baby food cleanse but at what expense? Is it healthy to go under 1000 calories a day? NO, it does mess up the metabolism and it has been reported that others who tried this cleanse felt moody from not chewing and had low energy levels. She did this cleanse as a result of her trainer and her new movie and she looks great but this has to be torture. Why not use real fruits and veggies and blend them up yourself or do a green smoothie cleanse. You get lots of nutrition this way and is less costly.
She was also adding a lean protein and veggies meal during the day. So it kinda reminds me of the low calorie Medifast and other diets like it. One meal and many small tiny meals and calories under 1000 a day for females. Once off of it you gain it back. Now her trainer is using this as a cleanse so in this way it is not a diet. I still think doing a green smoothie cleanse is better and if one is not a raw foodist add one regular meal of low carbs for dinner. Not a bad idea. See my earlier blog for a great recipe for a green smoothie.
Here is the link for one article on her new cleanse for reference.

What a totally silly fad!! Of course it can work because it's fewer calories, but I agree there are better ways to get your fruits & veggies.
